'Hidden' is my second solo show in Grimsby, of new and older work, primarily taken in the 1980's. Exhibited at the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre and coincided to fit in with the 'Unlocking the Collection' series of exhibitions on the Grimsby docks, Geoff's images explore new and unexplored views of aspects and details of the docks not necessarily seen before. His Factory series of abstract graffiti images [used by Peter Saville for a record cover and subsequent songbook by the band New Order] tap into the rich visual and colourful daubings of workers cleaning their brushes after a day painting the ships and boats on the dry dock. The imagery reminded Geoff of the paintings of Mark Rothko, Gerhard Richter and Jackson Pollack.
